Mönch and Jungfrau Link up
Alpine traverses are one of the most satisfying styles of climbing.
When Jakob and I saw that Lauper on the North Face of the Monch (our chosen route) was out of condition, we set our sights on a different objective. After a good nights rest in the Guggi hut, we climbed the Nollen route to Monch, traversed over the glacier, went up the SE ridge of Jungfrau, and down climbed the Rotgrat; clocking 3000m of descent to the Lauteraan Valley. It was a fantastic day climbing among some iconic Swiss mountains, and it wasn’t as heavy as I expected!
