Aiguillette d' Argentière and Les Chésery Slabs After a week or two of bad weather I wasn’t feeling too keen on heading up top with all of the new snow. I had taken up sport climbing as a way get strong and keep active over the unsettled period. So, me and my new climbing partner Monse packed some food and made a plan to go check out the bolted Chesery slabs for a couple of days.- a story told with photos Great weather! Too bad about the snow you can see on Chardonett in the background. It took us about 1.5 hours to reach the climbing from Argentere. A climber makes his way up the Aiguillette d' Argentière. This paticular route is maybe 6a+ and provides a great wee crux at the end. We spent the afternoon climbing different routes on this pillar but found the best climbs just below on a wall down valley. Quite the perch. A friend Moises and his partner reached the top as I was scrambling up the track to find a camping site. I couldn’t help but stop and get a few shots of them sitting above a small Chamonix village. Searching for a campsite. Looking toward Argentere Glacier and Chardonnet. Mother nature giving us a show. The peaks of du Plan with Mont Blanc is sitting just out of frame on the right and the Jorasses on the left. Rise and shine. Bad coffee and burnt oats.. whoops Les Cheserys Slabs. We climbed 2 or 3 multipitch routes before heading away at lunch. Pretty uninspiring lines really but a great location. Back to Chamonix before the rain.
